AWE Tuning Mk6 TSI K04 Turbo Kit
On April 9th, 2011 the AWE Tuning TSI K04 Turbo Kit helped propel our daily driven Mk6 GTI DSG to an 11.87 second quarter mile run and a 120.3mph trap speed, making it the fastest quarter mile and trap speed for a Mk6 TSI powered vehicle to date. Not a purpose built race car, no special parts or files; just off-the-shelf AWE Tuning and G.I.A.C. products.

Working directly with G.I.A.C. for the software for this turbo kit, as with all our turbo products, we’ve developed Performance software that retains perfect drivability and maintains all factory safety and emissions standards. The responsiveness of the turbo compliments the front wheel drive platform, with smooth power delivery and no sense of extreme turbo lag or twitchiness. Factory fuel injectors and high pressure fuel pump are also retained.
Power Output:
The K04 turbocharger from the European market Audi S3 redefines the idea of what is possible from a bolt on K04. AWE Tuning in house Performance Engineers have adapted the turbo to the 2.0T TSI engine, to the tune of:
342 crank horsepower and 349 crank torque when using the Audi S3 Intercooler and stock airbox
360 crank horsepower and 370 crank torque with the Audi S3 Intercooler and a cold air intake
To improve turbo sound in the passenger cabin, and permit an easy installation, we eliminate a muffler incorporated on the compressor outlet tube by Borg Warner. In its place is an aluminum compressor fitting, which allows for smoother airflow and a lifetime free of leaks.
Please note! Installation of G.I.A.C. software requires that you send your fuel injection ECU or bring your car to an authorized G.I.A.C. install center. Also, a properly designed performance turbo back exhaust is required for safe and optimal operation of this kit. All development work was done on multiple test cars fitted with our 2.5 inch turbo back exhaust system.
